Then, with Nimrod, we stopped in front of the Sumerian cylinder seal, and we saw that the lion was not an adversary, but our own royal consciousness, which we must learn to bear.

Now comes the question that is the most personal part of the series:

What happens when the tree and the lion meet INSIDE YOU in a single moment?

Because that is what is really at stake. Not knowledge. Not the interpretation of symbols. But that moment — and many of us have experienced it, though we didn’t always realise what it was — when, in the stillness of dawn, after a deep breath, during meditation, in a child’s gaze, or in the midst of a profound loss, a feeling suddenly arises:

„I know this from somewhere. I’m not learning it now. I’m just remembering it.”

That’s what this article is about. And that’s what the whole Soul4you journey is all about.

Where the two images meet

First, let’s pause and place the two pictures side by side.

Zacchaeus in the fig tree. A man who had lived for years at the very bottom of the city, trying to see above the crowd, and one morning finally climbs up somewhere. He rises above his own limitations. And at that very moment, Jesus looks up at him. Ascension.

Nimrod on the seal cylinder. An initiated figure who simultaneously holds the lion of royal consciousness and bears the flowering branch of the Tree of Life. He does not fight, nor does he hunt game, but gently tends to it. Carrying.

Now ask yourself: what do these two things have in common?

A person who climbs up onto their own axis and then, there at the top of it, learns to harness their own strength.

These are not two separate states. It is a single arc: the ascent and the carrying, as two sides of the same process. And there is a third point where this arc arrives.

Arrival.

That moment when the tree and the lion are no longer separate symbols, but your own experience. When your body simultaneously feels the axis and the royal tranquillity. Not through concentration, not through effort, but simply through letting go.

This is the cosmic state of consciousness.

And it’s important to say this because most people expect some kind of extraordinary, ecstatic experience. Yet often the opposite happens: the cosmic moment isn’t louder, but quieter than usual. It doesn’t tear you away from your life, but rather, all of a sudden, it places you more deeply within it.

What does „cosmic” mean — and what does it NOT mean?

The term „cosmic state of consciousness” — or, as Ágnes Golenya calls it, the „blue” state of consciousness — is easily misunderstood. Let me start by explaining what it is NOT.

It doesn’t mean you’re leaving your body. It doesn’t mean you’re going „somewhere else”. Cosmic consciousness isn’t somewhere else. It’s right here, where you’re sitting now.

It doesn’t mean you’re constantly happy or calm. Cosmic consciousness isn’t an emotional state. You can be angry, sad or tired — and yet still be in a state of cosmic consciousness.

It doesn’t mean you’re chosen. Everyone has access. It’s not about merit, hierarchy or rank.

So what is it, then?

A cosmic state of consciousness is when you realise, all at once, that:

This body is yours — and yet the consciousness of a thousand years flows through it.

This life is yours — and yet it is part of a much larger pattern.

Your decisions are your own — and each one is underpinned by a deeper understanding.

Here you are, right now, in a city, or in a kitchen, or at a bus stop — and yet you’re in a cosmic position.

You’re not small, and you’re not big. You’re both at the same time.

This is the realisation that dawned on Zacchaeus in the fig tree, that Nimrod bore on his signet ring, that Imhotep embodied in Egypt, and that Ágnes Golenya refers to as „blue blood”. It has always been within us — we have simply forgotten it.

Light and the Darkness Beyond Light — Golenya’s Key Teaching

Here comes the most beautiful and most subtle teaching in the series. It is a teaching which, if you are not familiar with it, will have you running towards the Light for years, wondering why you never seem to arrive.

We must be particularly careful with our choice of words here. When Ágnes Golenya speaks of the Darkness Beyond the Light, she does not mean it in the sense of psychological darkness, nor as pain, nor as something evil. Rather, she is pointing to a primordial, magi state that precedes all form and all separation.

In the *Children of the Blue Blood* trilogy — particularly in the third volume, *Journey to the Golden Age* — Ágnes Purisaca Golenya states quite clearly that the Light is not the goal.

This is one of the most difficult teachings. Because if you’re on any kind of spiritual path, you’ve been hearing for years: „go towards the Light”, „be the Light”, „be a bearer of light”.

It’s just that Golenya says something really lovely.

Light is still in motion. Light is vibration. Light still presupposes its opposite — Darkness. Light, therefore, is not the point of arrival, but the threshold of arrival.

The point of arrival is what Golenya calls „Darkness Beyond the Light” or the „Germ-state” — the seed-state. In the second volume of the *Children of the Blue Blood* trilogy, he elaborates on this concept in detail.

This is not the darkness we encounter in everyday life. It is not the darkness of fear, depression or ignorance. It is important to understand this clearly before we misinterpret it.

This is the state of pure potentiality from which everything unfolds — including the Light. A primordial silence that cannot be grasped, for within it lives everything that could ever exist. The state of the core.

The Seed precedes the Light. That is why it cannot be attained simply by asking for „more light”. It can only be attained by, at some point, letting go of the Light as well, and learning to rest in silence within the core.

This is the deepest layer of cosmic consciousness. It is not ecstasy. It is not radiance. Rather, it is a deep, primordial silence, in which every possibility is present at once.

And here’s a line that sums up the series best:

You don’t need to go up.
On the way home.

How to find your way back — seven subtle trail markers

How do you return to this state, which has always been within you?

Let me explain it as I’ve experienced it, and as I’ve heard it from others. Seven subtle directions. Not a system. Not a formula. Just signposts.

1. Practising „not-knowing”. Every day, for a moment, allow yourself not to know anything. To have no answers. To simply be. This is the gateway to the Seed-state.

2. The body as an axis. Once a day, you pause, sink into your body, and feel that you yourself are the tree. From the soles of your feet to the top of your head, you are a single axis. All you need to do is feel.

3. The act of „carrying”. When a heavy feeling arises — anger, sadness, fear — you do not struggle against it, you do not suppress it, you do not chase it away. You simply carry it. Like Nimrod carrying the lion. Gently. There, under your arm.

4. Silence, which is not the absence of sound. A moment when you take off your headphones, put your phone down, and sink into the silence that lies behind the sounds. It is not empty. It is full of possibilities.

5. Honouring that „I’ve always known” feeling. When something strikes a chord within you and you feel, „I recognise this from somewhere.” Don’t try to explain it. Don’t rationalise it. Just let it speak to you. That is the voice of memory.

6. Connecting with your own ancestral traditions. A folk song, a handmade object, an old tale: these are not merely cultural artefacts. They are vessels. For you, this might be a Hungarian folk song, but it could be any other ancestral lineage into which your life has become woven. If you engage with them mindfully, some ancient knowledge will return to you through that lineage.

7. The confidence that you are here. The deepest practice: trusting that you were not born at the wrong time or in the wrong place. That your presence here, right now, fits perfectly into a vast pattern, even if you cannot see it.

None of these exercises is a performance. Each one is a form of self-expression.

And here’s the little secret: you don’t have to follow these trail markers in order. You can start from any of them. They all lead back to the same place.

Your golden age — which has already begun

The term „golden age” may put some people off, as they might sense a New Age flavour to it. But that is not what Golenya is talking about, nor is it what Hungarian ancestral tradition refers to.

Therefore, in this interpretation, the Golden Age is not a calendar event. It is not an external shift in eras that we will all experience on the very same day. Rather, it is an inner transformation that begins to take shape from person to person, from heart to heart.

The Golden Age is not a date in the future. It is not a matter of „one day, in a particular year, everything will change”. The Golden Age is the collective name for the awakening that is now beginning, in small ways, in seeds and sprouts, within people’s inner worlds.

Your golden age begins when:

One morning you realise that you don’t have to please everyone to be loved,

In a conversation, you say something you haven’t dared to say for years,

When making a decision, you listen to your own heart, rather than to what is „expected”,

During a meditation, you feel that your body is both small and cosmic,

In a moment of solitude, the realisation dawns: „I am not alone. I never have been.”

Every moment like this is a golden moment. And as more and more of them accumulate within you, the world around you begins to change too.

Not suddenly. Not dramatically. But from the inside out, slowly, surely.

And the most beautiful thing of all is that whoever has set this in motion within themselves passes it on to others as well. Not with words. But through their presence.

You yourself will be a little piece of the Golden Age for those you meet. Even if you don’t say a single word about the cosmic state of consciousness.

Three reflective questions to say goodbye

Dear Reader, this marks the end of our three-part series.

We climbed the fig tree with Zacchaeus. With Nimrod, we learnt how to carry a lion. And now, here at the end of the series, we’ve come to the point that was always within us — we’d just forgotten it.

I’m leaving you with three questions. Not so that you answer them straight away, but so that they can stay with you over the coming weeks, months — perhaps even years:

When do you reach that point where you no longer want to go up, but want to head home instead?

What is that piece of knowledge that you’ve once thought to yourself, „I’ve heard this somewhere before”, but haven’t dared to take seriously until now?

If every role, every expectation and every external voice were to fall silent around you for a moment, what would you hear deep inside?

A parting thought I’d like to leave you with:

What is now awakening within you is not new.
Do you just remember that,
the person you’ve always been.

If this series has resonated with you and you’d like to continue along this path, Soul4you’s more in-depth resources — workbooks, accompanying letters and future articles — are waiting for you here.

But there’s no rush. Your journey is your own — take it at your own pace.

Thank you for coming this far with me.

Sources used

Ágnes Golenya and the blue state of consciousness

Ágnes Purisaca Golenya: The Children of the Blue Blood, Vol. I. With Zacchaeus, the fig tree became an image of an awakened inner axis; with the figure I contemplate as Nimrod, carrying the lion became a way of exploring our relationship with our own strength.

Now I arrive at the most personal question in the series. What happens when the tree and the lion meet within you?

I am not asking how many symbols you can interpret. I am asking about a moment of recognition: in an early-morning silence, after an unhurried breath, during meditation, in a child's gaze, or perhaps in the midst of a difficult change.

Something stirs, and you find yourself thinking: I know this from somewhere. I am not only learning; I am remembering.

That is the experience I want to explore. It is also one of the questions at the heart of the Soul4you journey.

Where the two images meet

First, let us place them side by side. In Luke's account, Zacchaeus is a wealthy chief tax collector who climbs a sycamore fig tree because he wants to see Jesus and cannot see over the crowd. (Luke 19:1–5)

In my symbolic reading, that upward movement becomes a return to an inner axis. He leaves the position from which he cannot see, and the encounter begins from somewhere unexpected.

The second image is the lion-bearing figure considered in my Nimrod essay. There, I contemplate a figure carrying a lion and a flowering branch, without presenting it as an archaeologically authenticated portrait of the biblical Nimrod. (The Soul4you Nimrod essay)

For this series, the important movement is carrying. Strength is neither denied nor turned into domination; something powerful is held with responsibility.

Now bring those images together. A person finds their axis, then learns to stand there without being overwhelmed by the strength they carry.

Ascent and carrying become two aspects of one movement. And there is a third point at which they meet: arrival.

Arrival, rather than escape

By arrival, I mean the moment when the symbols cease to be only things you contemplate. They become recognisable in your own experience.

You feel rooted and open at the same time. There is strength, but it does not need to announce itself.

This is what I am calling cosmic consciousness in this essay. It is a spiritual term within my own account, not a clinical category or a state I claim can be objectively identified in another person.

The word “cosmic” can make us expect something overwhelming. Yet the moment I am describing may be quieter than the life around it.

It need not remove you from your body or your ordinary surroundings. It can bring you more fully into the place where you already are.

Nor do I equate it with being permanently calm or happy. Grief, anger and tiredness do not make a person's spiritual life less real.

And it is not a mark of being chosen above others. I do not use this language to establish a hierarchy of human worth.

What “cosmic” means to me

In my metaphysical understanding, our present life belongs to a reality larger than its immediate circumstances. I do not mean only that we feel connected to a community or inherit cultural memories, although those connections also matter.

I mean a real spiritual continuity that exceeds the account we usually give of ourselves. The body is here, this life is ours, and neither exhausts the reality to which we belong.

That is the sense in which I speak of an ancient knowing moving through the present. I am expressing a metaphysical conviction, not proposing that a feeling establishes biological ancestry or provides verifiable information about an ancient civilisation.

For me, cosmic consciousness includes several recognitions:

Embodiment: This is my body, and I can inhabit it without reducing my whole being to it.

Belonging: This is my life, and it is part of a wider reality.

Responsibility: My decisions remain mine, even when I experience guidance beyond my ordinary thinking.

Presence: I can stand in a kitchen, a street or a bus stop and still know that my life is not isolated from the whole.

I do not become less individual by recognising belonging. I become less dependent on isolation as the definition of myself.

The Zacchaeus and Nimrod images help me approach this recognition. They do not establish that the people represented by those names experienced precisely the state I am describing.

Light, and the darkness beyond light

Purisaca Golenya Ágnes's A Kék Vér Gyermekei trilogy is one of the acknowledged influences behind this part of my thinking; its volumes include Imhotep, a Kékség Papja, Az Isis-kód and Utazás az aranykorba. (The author's book information) I retain the Hungarian titles because I am referring to those works, not to English editions.

In an excerpt from the first volume published on her own website, Golenya explores darkness beyond the usual opposition of light as good and darkness as bad, and uses the image of the seed within that darkness. (Golenya, “A Fény fényezése”) What follows is my reflection on that imagery, not a verbatim translation of her teaching.

I find the image demanding because spiritual seeking can itself become a pursuit. We want another opening, another experience, more light.

But what if arrival is not simply a greater intensity of what we are already chasing? What if the movement eventually asks us to stop reaching?

The darkness I contemplate here is not cruelty, despair or a judgement about anyone's identity. It is the unformed: a silence before the distinctions through which we ordinarily recognise things.

Likewise, “light” in this passage is spiritual language. I am not making a claim about electromagnetic radiation or the physical origins of the universe.

The seed offers me a way to stay with the image. Before a form unfolds, the possibility of that form is not yet visible.

The absence of visible brightness is therefore not, in this reading, an absence of life. It is a way of imagining the fullness that precedes expression.

For me, this touches the deepest aspect of cosmic consciousness. Not a demand for ever more spectacular experiences, but an original stillness in which belonging does not have to be demonstrated.

The phrase “blue blood”, which appears in the title of Golenya's trilogy, also requires care in English. Here I engage with it as spiritual imagery, not as a statement about royal lineage, race, biological purity or one people's superiority.

The distinction matters because the direction of this essay is towards shared belonging. Nothing in it requires anyone to possess a privileged ancestry.

The sentence I would leave beside these images is my own: perhaps the movement is no longer higher, but homeward. Not away from life, but towards what makes it possible to inhabit life more fully.

Seven gentle ways of approaching the experience

I offer these as points of attention, not a system or a promise of a particular state. You do not need to complete them in order, and none is a test of your spiritual development.

Allow a moment of not knowing

For a brief moment, let yourself have no answer to the question that has occupied you. You are not abandoning thought; you are making room before thought rushes to close the matter.

I associate this openness with the seed. Something need not already have a name in order to be present.

Feel the body as an axis

Stand or sit in a way that is comfortable and accessible to you. Notice the contact supporting you, and the space above you.

Let the tree become an inward image of rootedness and openness. There is no posture you must achieve to deserve the experience.

Practise carrying rather than fighting

When a difficult feeling appears, see whether you can acknowledge it without either attacking it or allowing it to dictate your next action. This is how I use the image of the carried lion.

Gentleness does not mean remaining alone with something overwhelming. Sometimes the responsible way to carry an experience is to seek support.

Listen for silence within the day

Put down the phone for a moment, if that is possible, and notice what is here without filling the space immediately. The silence I mean need not depend on an entirely quiet room.

I am interested in the pause in our compulsion to add something. What can be received when we are not continually reaching?

Give recognition room without making it proof

When something feels deeply familiar, you do not have to dismiss it before listening. You can give the experience space and observe what it brings into your life.

But familiarity does not establish the factual truth of an impression. Listening inwardly and checking outward claims can remain part of the same honest practice.

Approach a tradition with attention

A song, a handmade object or an old story may help you feel a continuity that ordinary explanation does not fully capture. For me, these can be carriers of spiritual meaning as well as cultural memory.

This need not depend on a pure or single line of descent. Family, language, adoption, chosen belonging and respectfully encountered traditions can all form part of a person's life, without making different cultures interchangeable.

Trust that your presence has a place

My deepest practice here is trusting that my life belongs within a reality I do not yet see in full. That trust does not require me to call every circumstance fair or every relationship safe.

Belonging is not a command to stay where I am harmed. Sometimes it is what gives me the strength to leave.

Your golden age

In this essay, “golden age” names an inward quality, not a date on a calendar. I am not predicting a global transformation that everyone must experience in the same way.

I mean the beginnings of a life less organised around the need to prove that we deserve to exist. It may become visible in something very ordinary:

Being loved: You notice that pleasing everyone is not the price of your worth.

Speaking truthfully: You find a careful way to say what you have been afraid to name.

Choosing: You listen to the heart without abandoning responsibility for your decision.

Being present: You experience your body as belonging within something larger, rather than as an obstacle to spiritual life.

Receiving support: In a lonely moment, you allow the possibility that you do not have to carry everything by yourself.

I call these small beginnings of a golden age because they change the quality from which we live. I do not mean that inward change guarantees that the surrounding world or other people will change with us.

Yet our presence matters. We can carry what we are learning into an encounter without turning it into a lesson someone else must accept.

Three questions to take with you

The three-part journey ends here: the tree, the lion, and the possibility of arrival. The images remain available without requiring you to force an experience.

Direction: Where in your life are you beginning to want homecoming rather than another higher position?

Recognition: What has felt quietly familiar, and how could you explore it honestly without either dismissing it or turning it into certainty about facts?

Listening: If the roles and expectations around you became quieter for a moment, what might you hear within?

My own sense is that what awakens in us is not always something newly acquired. Sometimes it is a recognition of a belonging that was already there.

Thank you for travelling this far with me. Your way of continuing can have its own pace.

With love,
Georgina
Soul4you
","_s4y_en_cim":"The Cosmic State of Consciousness","_s4y_en_kivonat":"

1

post-173","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-spiritualis
["GET
