What does it mean to create, if we do not start from the premise that we want to acquire something at any cost? What changes if we first ask ourselves: what inner quality do I want to draw on as I bring something into the world?
For me, the question of creation is linked here to the heart and to love. I am not merely interested in the result, but also in what gives rise to our intentions and actions.
We connect with the things we shape
Let’s think of a garden that we look after. We take care of it, work in it, give space for things to grow, and then we ourselves can spend time in the environment that we have helped to create.
This sense of reciprocity helps to shed light on what I’d like to talk about. We are influenced by people and events, whilst our own presence and decisions can also shape relationships and situations.
My spiritual interpretation then turns towards a deeper question: what do we convey when we act? Fear, a desire to possess, a need to prove ourselves, or attention and love?
Energy and information: a personal interpretative model
I summarised my original idea in a brief expression: energy × information. I still consider this a useful illustration today, provided it is clear that I am not referring to a physical equation.
In this model, I use the term ‘energy’ in a metaphysical sense: not merely as another name for our mood or good intentions, but in reference to the energetic nature of existence. I use the term ‘information’ to denote the content and direction associated with this. The multiplication sign expresses the interconnection between the two, not a calculation involving measurable physical quantities.
In everyday language, we might put it this way: it does matter what our intentions are and how well we understand the situation when we offer help. Good intentions must be accompanied by attention, appropriate knowledge and appropriate action. Even if we really want to do something, it is still worth asking whether what we are about to give is actually what is needed.
The origin of love and the role of the heart
In my own faith, pure love is a quality that comes from God. When I speak of ancient knowledge, I am referring to that understanding centred on love, to which we can relate not only as new knowledge but also as a realisation.
In this line of thought, the heart is where we receive divine love and understanding. This does not place it in opposition to reason; instead, it raises the question: can I live out and put into practice what I have understood?
Two further expressions illustrate this: pure love × information coming from God; the heart × divine, primordial love. These are perspectives on the same spiritual learning process, not scientific formulas derived from one another.
A path we can travel in both directions
One approach starts from our own experience. We listen to our hearts, we learn, we try to be present with love, and as we put this into practice, our understanding of what we have been taught may deepen within us.
From the perspective of my faith, I see the other approach as follows: the love and knowledge that come from God speak to us; we receive them through our hearts, and then give them form in our decisions and actions.
The journey can therefore be interpreted in both directions. Understanding can lead to action, and action, once experienced, can lead to further understanding. We do not need to know everything in advance in order to start connecting in a different way.
Creation: remembering love
For me, the phrase ‘creation = remembering love’ encapsulates this connection. Here, remembering is not merely a matter of deciding how I would like to behave. It is also recognising once again that love is not alien to us: it is part of our connection to the Source, and this connection can find expression in our actions.
In this text, I also use the term ‘creation’ to refer to the earthly expression of love. It is not eternal love that we create through a new decision; rather, we give shape to it in our everyday lives, expressing what I believe we are intrinsically connected to.
This does not mean that we can control every external outcome through love. The decisions of others and our circumstances do not disappear simply because our intention becomes clearer within us.
Yet the question remains with us: how does love become present in what I am creating now? Perhaps the answer will be a thoughtful remark, a well-considered decision, or an act that truly benefits the other person.
With love,
